After all, this is a band reliably churning out unremarkable (if decent) radio rock, with their best work almost exclusively decades in the past, that still manages to attract a substantial friendly audience even among the kind of hipsters and obscure genre aficionados who tend to predominate on the kind of. Live in the moment, but before you know it, the moment will be gone. There’s something fascinating about Foo Fighters’ place in the musical zeitgeist. Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters performs onstage at the after party for the Los Angeles premiere of 'Studio 666' at the Fonda Theatre on Feb. While it’s been a long road for Foo Fighters to get to this point, and this album doesn’t quite match up to their most distant triumphs, these aging rockers have demonstrated here that some fire in the belly remains. "No turning back, don't turn that page" - This means the person doesn't want to look back at their past or think ahead to their future. Foo Fighters (1995) It’s an origin story straight out of rock’n’roll myth: Grohl, alone with producer Barrett Jones in a tiny Seattle studio, baring his soul after Kurt Cobain’s death. Foo Fighters’ lyrics have never been particularly complex, and nothing’s changed here in that regard. "Is that the price you pay/running through hell/heaven can wait" - This is talking about what the consequences you suffer when you live a bad life and just figure you can fix your life later heaven can wait. Long Road To Ruin Song lyrics from (2007) movie is penned by Grohl David Eric, Hawkins Taylor, sung by Foo Fighters, music composed by Foo Fighters. ![]() ![]() "No dead end in sight" - this continues off of the "Long Road" metaphor: you don't see the dead end coming, and you only think about the present (living in the moment). "Long Road to Ruin" means you are driving down a long road that will lead to your own demise (think the car-crash scene at the end of the music video). "No stranger singing in your name" means nobody is standing behind you or with you you are an idol to no one. When it says "One flag was taken down/to raise another in its place" it makes me think of the popular trends that come and go how one trend is thrown out to make room for a new one. I think "Long Road to Ruin" is about living in the moment and trying to be someone you aren't.
